Hello, I’m Rachel, the baker behind Sweetz by Smitz!

Sweetz by Smitz grew out of an annual tradition of decorating sugar cookies for Christmas. Each year, I challenged myself to make them more detailed than the year before. Eventually, I started baking for other holidays and events, volunteering to make treats for friends’ birthdays and celebrations. Along the way, I discovered what I love most: creating delicious and beautiful cupcakes, cakes, and cookies!

I’ve always loved creating things. Since my day job is in research, baking and decorating give me the perfect creative outlet and a sweet escape from the analytical side of my life. I love trying new twists on classic flavors, paying attention to the little details, and turning scratch ingredients into something special.
